College of Public Health
Established in July 1984 with an initial enrollment of 100 students, the College
is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and has graduated
1,975 students. More than 91 faculty provide education, research and service impacting
local, state, national and global public health. Anthropology offers a Dual Masters
degree program with the College, which allows students to pursue a concurrent program
of study leading to both the Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Applied Anthropology
and the Master of Public Health (M.P.H) degree in one of 8 concentration areas within
Public Health: Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Global Communicable Disease,
Healthcare Organizations and Management, Health Policy and Programs, Maternal and
Child Health, Public Health Education, or Global Health. The curriculum features
cooperative learning, research, problem-solving, and field experience so that faculty
and students together contribute to pursuits essential to the health of human society.

Dr. Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions
The Patel Center provides multidisciplinary research, education, and training on
the dynamics and effects of globalization, with primary emphases on water, trade,
urbanization, and migration. The Patel Center leads the Globalization Research Network,
a congressionally funded consortium of globalization research centers across the
United States. Using Florida as one of many important research laboratories, the
Patel Center for Global Solutions develops models and presents research findings
that have local, national and global applications; guides future problem solving
and education in Florida and around the world; and contributes to improving the
human condition. The Center brings together a wide range of partners—from government
to industry to higher education—making it a catalyst for developing solutions through

Institute for the Study of Latin American and the Caribbean
The Institute for the Study of Latin America and the Caribbean forms part of International
Affairs at USF. The faculty and staff provide for an integrated and interdisciplinary
approach of current and historical environmental, economic, social, political and
cultural traits and trends in the region, in the larger context of the Americas.
Many of Anthropology’s faculty are Affiliated Faculty, leading seminars and courses
on select aspects of applied anthropology in Latin America. For more information,

Interdisciplinary Center for Hellenic Studies
The ICHS assists in establishing and promoting the study of Hellenism through the
many fields that define Greek society and culture, including anthropology and classical
archaeology. The ICHS also provides, through its granting and lecture programs,
academic enrichment opportunities for students and faculty. For more information,
