Hesborn Wao

Dr. Hesborn Wao is a recent graduate of Measurement and Evaluation from the University of South Florida. He received his B.Ed. degree at the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and taught high school Mathematics and Accounting for three years before joining USF where he graduated with a M.Ed. (Measurement & Evaluation). Hesborn’s interests include employing mixed methods approaches in research design; measurement of higher education outcomes; program evaluation; and secondary data analysis using advanced modeling techniques.

In the last two years, Hesborn has been engaged in data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of products of an NSF funded project, Effects of College Degree program Culture on Female and Minority Student Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Participation, which investigates the relationship between postsecondary degree program cultures and successful retention and graduation of underrepresented populations in STEM fields. He is currently a post-doctoral research fellow engaged in data collection, data analysis, and program evaluation activities in two federally funded projects, Evaluation of Florida Voluntary Public School Choice (VPSC) Programs and Florida Charter School Evaluation.
