Dr. Rebekah Heppner received her PhD in Applied Anthropology from the University of South Florida in 2007 and a graduate certificate in Africana Studies in 2004. Her dissertation research focused on the construction of gender in the workplace and workplace diversity initiatives. She has presented papers based on this research at the 2007 Annual Conference of the American Anthropological Association as part of a session titled “Blurring the Boundaries between Work/Non-work,” and at the 2008 Annual Conference of the National Council for Research on Women as part of a panel titled “Transforming Corporate Environments: Women as Agents of Change.”
Dr. Heppner holds a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA and has been an adjunct faculty member at both USF and Schiller International University. She previously owned a staffing company and is a former senior manager with the international public accounting firm KPMG and an assistant vice president for Progressive Insurance Companies.
